October Imagination Camp: The Mystery of Lanternwood

2–3 minutes

Every autumn, the creatures of Lanternwood hold The Night of a Thousand Stories, when lanterns are lit and everyone gathers to tell the stories that have been collected throughout the year.

But this year, the Great Story Lantern has gone dark.

Five pieces of its light have disappeared.

Nobody knows exactly why.

All that remains is a strange letter, an old map, and a tiny trail leading away from the lantern…

This October, your children are invited to become the Keepers of Imagination.

Throughout our five-day Imagination Camp, the Keepers will be tasked with finding the five missing pieces of the Great Story Lantern (one piece each day) as our adventure unfolds around them.

Each morning will bring a new chapter, new clues, and new choices. Which trail should we follow? Can we trust the mysterious creature in the woods? What kind of potion will help us uncover our next clue? Do we capture the strange shadows… or befriend them?

The choices the children make will help shape the story as we go.

Through a week filled with wonder, courage, memory, creativity, and belonging, children will experience joyful learning through nature exploration, storytelling, imaginative play, art, games, sensory experiences, and choose-your-own-adventure-style challenges.

There will be pumpkins.

There will be potions.

There will be lanterns, mysterious maps, friendly ghosts, strange forest creatures, and at least a little bit of magic.

Our October camp will have a gently spooky Halloween feel while remaining playful, cozy, creative, and appropriate for children who may not enjoy frightening Halloween themes.

Most importantly, the children won’t simply be listening to the story.

They’ll be inside it.
